Coxicam 7.5 Mg/ coxicam tablet/ Meloxicam 7.5 Mg Tablets for Rheumatoid arthritis.

Uses

Coxicam tablets are used for Rheumatoid arthritis and Ankylosing spondylitis.

Don't take it if

• you are at least 3 months pregnant.
• you are under the age of 16.
• you are allergic to meloxicam or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
• you have a failing heart.
• you had a bleeding in the brain recently.
• you have severe liver problems.
• you ulcer or bleeding in the stomach.
• You are allergic to aspirin or other NSAIDs.

Warning

• talk to your doctor before taking.
• If you have heart problems, previous stroke or think you might be at risk, you should discuss your treatment with your doctor or pharmacist. Meloxicam may be associated with a small increased risk of heart attack or stroke.
• if you notice bleeding or ulceration immediately stop using Meloxicam.
• stop taking it if you develop a skin rash or any skin symptoms.
• keep away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date.

side-effects

All medicines can have side effects. Sometimes they are serious, most of the time they are not. You may need medical treatment if you get some of the side effects.

Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you:

• Skin reactions.
• Shortness of breath or asthma attack.
• hepatitis.
• Jaundice.
• Pain in the abdomen, loss of appetite.
• Bleeding, ulceration of your digestive tract.

How to take

1.Flare-ups osteoarthritis:

The usual dose is 7.5 mg a day. This may be increased to 15 mg a day.

2.Rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis:

The usual dose is 15 mg a day. Your doctor may reduce your dose to 7.5 mg a day

Other medicines and meloxicam

Tell your doctor if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines.

• Other NSAIDs
• Medicines which prevent blood clotting (warfarin, heparin)
• Medicines which break down blood clots (thrombolytics)
• Medicines to treat heart and kidney diseases
• Corticosteroids
• Cyclosporin
• Any diuretic medicine
• Medicine to treat high blood pressure
• Lithium (used to treat mood disorders)
• Methotrexate (used to treat tumors)
• Cholestyramine (for cholesterol)
